Luke 2134 36 Come Lord Jesus
Luke 21:34-36 Come, Lord Jesus!

"Jesus said to his disciples: "Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap...Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations..."

In 1959, Pope John XXIII surprised the Catholic world by calling the Second Vatican Council. It was time, he said, "to throw open the windows of the Church so that we can see out and the people can see in."

It happened. We came out of our bunkers (Churches) to share our Good News with Christians as well as non-Christians. The secularists and atheists came out as well, not to share their "good" news with us but to tear our Good News apart.

A few years ago, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that nativity scenes could be displayed in the State's Capitol rotunda along with other displays of religious or secular belief. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) put one up as well. They claim that their display celebrates the human family, the Winter Solstice and human reason. The truth is, it mocks Christianity.

"T'is the season for reason." This is FFRF's slogan. Let us examine for a moment where their beloved "reason" takes them.

"DECEPTION." Take a look at their display and ask yourself where did these highly uninspired individuals get their Winter Solstice design from? From afar, the FFRF's display looks awful, but very similar to a another scene: a nativity scene, a scene taken directly from Christian Tradition. I can assure you that it did not come from any pagan manuscripts, or ancient pagan blueprints, or even from ancient pagan worship. It came directly from Christian tradition. And it was carefully and specifically designed to deceive. This is where human (almost barbarian) reason takes the unsuspecting visitor: to a lie.

This pathetic little organization, that claims to defend secularism from the foolishness of religion, actually uses paganism (a religion) to mock another religion. And what's even more disturbing than this, is the fact that members of the FFRF are not pagans, they are atheists! Now imagine for a moment if Christians falsified themselves as atheists in order to mock Muslims! This is exactly what the FFRF is doing. They are pretending to be pagans to mock Christians so as to protect their fellow atheists! In other words, they are abusing another people's religion (ancient paganism) to deceive others! Who do these elitist atheists think they are fooling? How thoroughly disgusting and deceiving they are. Here lies another fruit of cold calculating reason: manipulation.

"MOCKERY." The FFRF does not mock religion. They mock only Christians. They do not mock Jews and the menorah during their sacred time of year. They mock Christians and their sacred time of year. You can also be sure that these cowards will never ever dare offend Islam, for they have understood what many Muslims around the world have understood: America respects violence. Violence pays, especially when it is cruel and unforgiving. How quickly our nation apologized to the Islamic world when their prophet was ridiculed. How quickly we ridicule another religion's God when we have nothing to fear. The FFRF is made up of a bunch of cowards, for they mock the weak and take advantage of those who turn the other cheek, but not the strong; those prone to violent reaction.

"T'IS THE SEASON TO BE HOLY." I prefer Christian holiness to secular reasoning, for I know perfectly well where holiness will lead me: to love God and neighbor. As you can see, secular reasoning without a moral compass leads to deception, manipulation and mockery of God and others.

Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD! "Marana tha!" Come, Lord Jesus! (Rev. 22:20c)
