Best Witch Scares In Books And Film
Witch BooksWitches have appeared in literature since Shakespeare wrote of them in Macbeth, and most likely even before then. For me, witches have always represented women with power, feared or respected because they embrace their abilities. Almost all books about witches include paranormal elements, but surprisingly, most can't be classified as horror.

BEST YA:

The Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins

The Spellbound series by Cara Lynn Shultz

BEST ADULT:

Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong

The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness

The Beauchamp Family series by Melissa de la Cruz

Witch MoviesMy love of witches started with The Craft. It came out when I was in high school, jut a bit younger than the characters and I could totally relate to their wanting to gain and use their abilities to make the whole teenage thing a little easier. Even as an adult, The Craft still remains one of my favorite movies ever made.

The Craft (1996)

The Witches of Eastwick (1987)

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (1988)

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000)

The Wicker Man (2006)
