Malachite has a long history which spans back to 4000 BC. This "Stone of Power" was used by the ancient Egyptians, and carved into statues as well as used as the primary stones in their magical amulets. The Pharaohs headdresses were lined with Malachite, raising the rulers vibrational power allowing for open consciousness in which this power would open the channels to higher wisdom. Egyptian woman ground Malachite into a fine powder and used it to paint their eye lids and eye lashes.

The stone has long been used in magical workings to lend extra energy and power. Wear it, hold it or place it upon the altar to increase your ability to send power toward your magical goal. Malachite is worn to detect impending danger, and legend tells us that this stone breaks into pieces to warn its wearer of any impending danger and is used in protective magick.

Malachite is a lovely natural amalgam of minerals, which helps the wearer to remember and renew the connection to the "All". It freshens the outlook and allows us to touch our core self without the fear that generally holds us back. It is soothing to the soul, and releases stress and blockages allowing to help create new beginnings.

Malachite is great for increasing ones concentration skills and is quite beneficial to ones physical, as well as psychic visions. This deep green patterned stone helps to find a balanced path between the desires of ego and of our higher Will, aiding us in removing blockages and inspiring us with ideas which will help to manifest those goals.

Because of the high copper content of the stone it has a very steady pulsing electromagnetic energy field. This gemstone is told to absorb negative energy from the auric field cleansing it, thus balancing the wearer and protecting them from the effects negative energies. This magickal stone is also one of the few stones that will clear, balance and activate ALL the Chakras.

Using this stone, one can counteract self-destructive romantic tendencies and help encourage true, pure love. Malachite is also good for enhancing emotional stability and balance in general.

You will receive one jumbo sized Malachite Tumbled Gemstone ~

Preparing For The Pagan Federation London Conference
Who is coming to the Pagan Federation London 2014 Conference next Saturday?

I've always enjoyed going to the PF London Conferences. Not only are they packed with interesting talks and workshops, entertainment and stalls to buy lovely things, they are also a great opportunity to meet up with other pagans in London.

This year, however, I have to admit I'm a little bit nervous - because I'm giving a talk there myself. My talk is apparently timed to start at 11am, so at least it'll be finished by lunchtime and I can have a nice glass of wine in the bar to celebrate.

The title of my talk is Psychogeography: Pathways into the Visionary City and the short description that is going in the programme explains:

In paganism, the natural landscape of the countryside is often seen as more inherently magical than the built environment of towns and cities. The psychogeographer, by contrast, finds just as much wonder and mystery in the urban landscape. Lucya Starza, of A Bad Witch's Blog, talks about the tools of psychogeography and what they offer the spiritual quester in London.I'll be explaining what psychogeography is, its origins and history, how to do it - and why I think it is a magical way of exploring the city.

Although my talk is now written and slide show put together, I'm still a bit nervous so I'm going to practise going over it a few more times before next weekend. My biggest hope is that plenty of people come along to listen.

The conference runs from 10am - 9pm on Saturday 30 August 2014 at Leytonstone Business and Enterprise Specialist School, 159 Colworth Rd, London E11 1JD. The nearest tube is Leytonstone (10 minute walk). For more details and to book tickets, visit: http://london.paganfed.org/

The Jungle Review
"The Jungle" is the eleventh episode of the third season of The Twilight Zone, and was first broadcast in November of 1961. It was written by Charles Beaumont, and starred John Dehner.

Alan Richards and his wife have returned from a trip to Africa, where he was working as an engineer designing a hydroelectic project. While there, a group of shamans placed a curse on the developers of the project, a curse that Richards' wife takes seriously, although he does not. The board of the company also scoffs at the idea, although Richards points out that they have talismans and superstitions of their own.

During the introductory scenes that set up the episode, it seemed that the episode was going into some fairly interesting territory: was Rod Serling going to give the television audiences of 1961 an introduction to post-colonialism and environmentalism?

After the basic conflict is introduced, it settles into more familiar terrain: Richards

Sympathy For Mediums
Dowry is a communication story about Japan loosing a shamanistic tradition, itako. Now, I normally find psychics and mediums disreputable (one of the best South Stop episodes dismantled John Edward, The Prime Douche in the Fabrication). Record psychics are charlatans - the rest are at best, deluded. Even so, I find gut reaction for itako - not for the impartiality of their claims, but reasonably for the loss of a tradition they portray - and the recess they magnify in a sorority. I may belief complementary about all this if I knew that zip were reducing their gamble with them and making significant life-decisions based on spirit communications (which most probably is nevertheless now). But also what about astrology? I don't idea I soul belief knowingly gut reaction for the loss of astrologers in a sorority - but also anew, it may depend on the context. In any model, I find this model scandalous and now is the story from today's NYT: Mount OSORE, Japan - Its name burial the Mound of Frightfulness, which seems an apt sticky tag for this sacred Buddhist site fashionable the hollow space of a inactive volcano. The beaten temple now is fixed by a downright collection and a rough country of in your birthday suit affect humming of sulfur that conjures images of Buddhist hell. But at home the mountain's twofold almanac accounting festivals, circle come by the busload to line up before a row of trivial tents in a set of the temple. In are the "itako" - one-time, recurrently screen women who keep s'eance-like ceremonies that customers believe soul allow them to district with spirits of the dead. These spiritual mediums peep out of place in a hyper-modern nation patronizing agreed for bullet trains and hybrid cars. Produce scarcely in lateral areas like this volcano on the far northern tip of Japan's tack islet, and scarcely weakly agreed to most Japanese, the itako are through the live misuse adherents to ancient shamanistic beliefs that predate Buddhism and modern forms of Shintoism, Japan's two tack religions, historians say. They confine survived path pains to make them out, as well as the repeated have nothing to do with of an assortment of Japanese, who unblemished down on them as charlatans who take the place of in superstition. Unfailing the farm out abbot at Bodai-ji, Mount Osore's temple, said the itako were not related to the temple, which he said scarcely tolerates their specter. Now, except, even these live misuse itako are loss. Definitely four grayish itako appeared at Mt. Osore's weeklong summer market this engagement, three having died of old age in the live engagement. Junior, the scarcely practicing medium younger than retirement age - 40-year-old Keiko Himukai, agreed through believers as the live itako - stopped coming this engagement for health reasons. "We can see a very ancient cook on a spit dying out before our eyes," Ms. Himukai said in a separate addressees. "But traditions confine to recreation with the time." Junichi Tonosaki, a historian in the prefectural museum in Aomori, everywhere Mount Osore is positioned, said the publication of itako had fallen from about 20 a decade ago. He said they began store at Mount Osore in the live century as their records began to dwindle, to make it easier for customers to find them. The volcano's 1,200-year-old temple is said by an assortment of now to be a store give orders for souls of the dead before Buddhist regeneration. And now is an scandalous bit: this was doubtless the scarcely profession friendly for the blind:Mr. Tonosaki and other historians say itako and other shamanistic mediums were famous imaginatively Japan in medieval time, to the same degree this was recurrently the scarcely natural ability friendly for the screen. But they were undeveloped in the late 19th century, as Japan built a modern nation. In spanking time, they confine survived scarcely on the geographic margins, in unripe northern Japan and on the southern islet of Okinawa.Decipher the full story now.

EarthHouse Project's 11th Annual

Midsummer Gather for 2011

Litha 34,255 S.W.R.

By Rev. Jack Green of Hollow Hills Coven

If you like Labyrinths or home brewed mead this is the place to be. If you don't mind camping in drizzle and lots of earwigs visiting while you're hanging out with a bunch of pagans and singing, drumming and dancing around a roaring fire, then this is it. Jenny Green and I left Paganistan for the Blue River and Eagle Cave on Dyad 19, the 19th day of Dyad Moon (that's Sunday, June 19th in the Roman calendar.) It took about 5 hours to get to the campsite. We had done our Esbat, our Full Moon rite the night before (Saturday) but the Full Moon was on Dyad 15, Wednesday June 15th three days before. It's always on the 14th or 15th day of the Moon when you start the day count at New Moon so we circle on the nearest Saturday.

THE CAMPSITE AND ITS HISTORY

Eagle Cave is in Southern Wisconsin (An Ojibwe word) in what was Dakota Country around 1600, then Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) Country by 1800. By 1860, what was left of the First Nations after the wars and the plagues were all pretty much rounded up and corralled onto the various reservations. The Nearest Reservation is the Ho-Chunk Rez about 70 miles almost due north. Despite Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's modern depredations the names of the land itself still tell the story. The old native tribes are now numbered with our spiritual ancestors and our future allies for though we are only Second Nations here we are the First Nations reborn in the Old Country: Europe.

"PRACTICING THE ABBOTS BROMLEY HORN DANCE"

SETTLING IN AT THE CAMPSITE

Once there, we set up our camp. It had been a while since we had been camping and it took a bit to get my woodland legs back. Fortunately, the EarthHouse registration packet included a list of things to bring. Unfortunately, we got there just as the opening ritual had begun, so we waited until the gate was again open. Then we pitched our new tent and borrowed a tarp for our sheltered area. The brand new tent was larger than we thought so we used two tarps underneath rather than just one as planned. The community fire was already going and the first night's drumming had begun by the time we finished our set up. This is the same overall site as the old Pagan Spirit Gatherings I had attended in 1988 and 1996 and it was just as hilly so my legs and ankles got a good work out. While finding a relatively level spot for the tent was tricky, it was possible.

Jenny and I attended some workshops together and others separately to better cover our bases, but we couldn't see everything we wanted to. We were frustrated we couldn't get going right away, but it had rained the night before, and it was very difficult to start a fire. We finally got a fire going and had a late breakfast and I finished setting up our campsite while Jenny went to a drumming workshop. It was pretty rainy and misty until Thursday and we had to use our rain ponchos a couple of times. The rest of the time was quite nice and sunny. We got to star gaze a couple of nights and I gave some informal star walks. On Friday night Jenny and I saw the International Space Station pass over. It moved like a satellite but it was much brighter. Now that it's finished some people say they can see its oblong shape. Godspeed to the heroes who have died trying to open up the next frontier not just for humankind but now for All Gaian Life.

PAGAN UNIVERSITY

In addition to a series of workshops and kids programming, there was Pagan U or Pagan University which focused on more advanced topics and I was asked to do a session on Pagan History. These classes were generally right after morning meeting and the first one was an "Herb Walk and Plant Identification". Presentations included "Ecological Restoration, a Spiritual Perspective" which involved a hike in the local woods on Monday with Chris. "Divination: What, How and Why" on Tuesday and "To Know, To Dare, To Will, To Keep Silent" on Wednesday, both by Estelle Daniels. Thursday's was "Understanding the Labyrinth" with Mama Cat and my "Pagan History" was on Friday. While I did get to explain the broad sweep of the topic, the detailed discussion only got us up to Stonehenge and the Megalithic Tribes.

The feasts and the music shows were awesome! The Midsummer Feast on Wednesday, 22rd Day (June 22rd) of Dyad Moon was huge and we made turkey chili for the vast potluck collection and the Barbarian (camper's leftovers) Feast on Saturday, Dyad 25, June 25th. "(Note: it is quite rare that a Roman Month such as June starts on the day of the New Moon of a lunation like Dyad Moon so Month and Moon days match up but it does happen. When it does you can often get several moons in a row that do it, like the next moon: Buck... it was just as big)"

"SMILEY FACE IN THE FIRE"

MUSIC, RITUAL AND OTHER WILD THINGS

The musical guests were great too: "Folk Magic' played Wednesday night. On Friday, the 24th Day of Dyad Moon, Cat Gut did a violin concert on that put us in the salons of 18th Century Europe while we lounged in a 21st Century Wisconsin forest. Amazing. Jenny and Bear sang folk songs afterwards, including a few requests. That night the amazingly talented Cat Gut also gave us an awesome fire-spinning show during the drumming and dancing of the community fire circle. (See above photo). The previous evening, Cat was practicing with her light spinning LED wands that created a number of very interesting optical effects, but my camera's batteries were dead at that point.

The Rituals are of course what a lot of folks come for. The Chocolate ritual on Monday was funny and tasty. The Summer Solstice rite on Tuesday was not the usual celebration of the union of the God and Goddess, but more of a magical rite on what we wanted to get rid of in our lives. Wednesday was the Midsummer Feast and Thursday Mama Cat led a Labyrinth Walk. There was a closing ritual on Sunday, which we attended as we were packing up. We made sure to get as much contact info as we could from our new friends before we left.

Nature and the local wild life as usual had it's own agenda. In addition to the mists and rains in the first part of the week, we had a startling large number of earwigs getting into every nook and cranny; plus gnats that well, bugged us. There were tons of birds of all local species. Skunks patrolled for trash at night--I could hear their little growly voices at times. A Barred Owl debate woke Jenny and I up around 3:00 AM Thursday morning. We think they were arguing about territory as the screeches came from two different sides of the tent.

EarthHouse Midsummer Gather was a blessed relief from Mundania, the Muggle World. I still get a little culture shock after every pagan gather but the spiritual recharge is well worth it. After the gather, Jenny wanted to somehow to make our alarm clock say "It's Coffee and Hot Water too!" just like the morning call of Rick's Caf and the village herald we were greeted with each morning at 7:00 AM. All in all it was a great, engaging weekend and we had fun relaxing, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones as we 'recharged' our pagan batteries.

What Is A Shaman
Shaman (ENORMOUS SHAH-MAAN) is a word from the speechifying of the Tungus species of Siberia.

A Shaman is a man or woman who enters and something else supplicate of consciousness at strength of mind.

The Shaman does this to make and benefit from an ordinarily bass candor to gain knowledge, power, and to help others. The Shaman normally has at least one or chief spirits in his or her identifiable service.

The fantasize or "JOVIAL" supplicate of consciousness the Shaman enteres can be termed as the Samanistic Backtalk of Dimple (SSC). The shaman does not go into this supplicate for mess, but hardly for decisive purposes.

The Shaman must equally know the basic methods of accomplishing the work in the SSC beside ingoing such a supplicate.

For occurrence, if the Shaman wants to recover a patient's defender animal, he must know the techniques for reaching the Lowerworld, ingoing it, shrewdness the spirit animal and bringing it back strongly. Following, he must know what tips to agree to the tolerant in the unprocessed Backtalk of Dimple (OSC).

The Shaman is an obedient seer who works in the dark, or at least with the eyes covered in order to see highly. For this think, the Shaman normally engages in such practices at night.

A few cordial of Shamanistic seeing can be done with the eyes open, but that cordial of sense is normally less celebrated. In pessimism, the distractions of unprocessed candor are less, making it probable for the Shaman to fix on aspects of non-ordinary candor essential for the Shaman's work.

The SSC must equally be entered with the relief of lingo, live, dancing and the use of rattles. Shamanistic Elucidation is the lock aptitude to liven up the pessimism and see what others cannot deduce.

Interweavings 1
THE TWELVE MONTHS OF VIRTUES CONTINUES.

Our second month on our journey is centered on the word love. There is a lot of power in that four letter word. We use it without thinking about it most of the time and for me it usually involves ice cream or shoes. Many times the word love is spoken to convey a deep connection with another person. There is cynicism at times as well.

In January we looked at Simplicity as the foundational building block for the year of virtues. The power inherent in love gives depth and meaning to all we pursue, in our interactions with each other and in our personal interactions with the deities in which we draw strength. For of all the possible intent we may have, the teaching of Harm None is another way of saying Love All. Good, bad and ugly.

In the Christian New Testament, the power of love is front and center. The Jesus story is all about love walking among humanity and being an example. In literature through out the ages the lessons of love are explored. Shakespeare was the master at showing the consequences of love forsaken as well as embraced. These are just two examples. There are as many more as there are people on this planet.

So, where does that leave us as Pagans? How does Love fit in with our view of the world? There has been a lot of hate hurled toward us throughout the ages. For me, the Burning Times brings up all kinds of negative thoughts with Love nowhere to be found. But I do believe that the power of intent is real and all comes back to me magnified. I work at releasing my own sense of hate in order to walk my talk and bring blessings to me and mine.

My walk with the Goddess has allowed me to fully sense the meaning of love in a very organic way. The quiet I feel during meditations opens my whole being to a sense of unconditional peace and love; An acceptance for who I am at my core - every molecule - past, present and future. In the quiet of that moment, I hold all that is dear to me in love. Surrounded by pink light and released to the higher good of all concerned. Love at it's most basic. The Simplicity of love.

As February unfolds, and commercials and card companies are everywhere extolling the virtue of love, let it remind us to turn within and find the power and depth of that word. Love.

The following information is all true as I know it and perceive it to be. So here is my story; before we begin I urge you to keep an open mind...

It had been only days since I had perceived vibes telling me that my dear departed friend Dennis's spirit had left my presence. He was a valued person in life, one that was irreplaceable. I was so glad to have made contact with him after his death. His spirit and I had become closer than in life; this because in life geographical distance came between us. At that time I did a Tarot card reading; it confirmed my perception that he would not be around for a while.

After reading the confirmation message from the Tarot I felt saddened. I emailed my friend (who is blessed with some psychic ability) to ask her if it were true, I asked if she saw the same thing. She was consulted because when you read Tarot for yourself as I had, the corresponding vibes are often missing. This makes it difficult to fully comprehend a message, especially given that each card has so many meanings. Clarity was needed and she was glad to help.

What she told me lined up with and added to what I saw - that even though Dennis had become primarily dedicated to a mission regarding a family member of his, he would know when he was needed. He would then return to provide help for me. He had given the impression he felt that the time for his return may arise too, no hint as to what type of circumstance it would regard though.

I knew I'd miss him.

So within days of this message being delivered, that would make it around July 5th, 2012, I received a message from the Tarot. Sometimes during my daily Tarot practice I ask general advice of my spirit guides. This particular offering of advice was one that had come up before. It was made clear to me once again, that given I have many creative gifts, I needed to recognize that these talents carry a lot of energy.

Apparently if I didn't do something to externalize them - in essence find a way to direct them outside of myself, then that internalized power could do a lot of harm to my body and mind. The reason that the energies were not being externalized was because I had and still have many health issues; and too, live out in the middle of nowhere with no vehicle. It's tricky to find a consistent outlet.

Now there's a catch 22 situation... I needed to release or work out those energies in order to heal, and was blocked to a large degree to do so due to my multitude of health issues.

OBSERVATION: If I'd known long ago what I know today about grounding, I think my health would likely be a lot better! I recently learnt something valuable - that I can hug a tree and imagine excess energy as well as any negative energy travelling down through the tree, then through the roots and through the earth, right down to the Earth's core; within the Earth's core I imagine it converted back into positive energy. This is in no way a bad thing to do to a tree as trees are naturally grounded. So I have now become a tree hugger!

Why didn't my guides tell me earlier that grounding would deal with energy overload? It's truly hard to say. Even guides aren't perfect; they grow and evolve as do we. That said, perhaps that information had yet to come. Who knows really. By the time I learnt to consult my guides, the bulk of the damage to my health had already occurred; they probably wanted to begin by teaching me to handle my life in the most optimal way possible rather than to automatically reach for the simplest way.

I could also say that it's possible that they told me and I had not picked up on the entirety of what I had been told. No one could deny that grounding one's energy is also externalizing it. So it's possible too, that in them saying that I needed to release it to be external; that they also meant I needed to ground energy which wasn't otherwise utilized.

When later on I learnt the value of a fully efficient grounding, it was via my guides through an exceptionally gifted local psychic. She filled in the bits that weren't offered me via the cards. So in the end my guides did tell me that I must ground, as well as how to do so.

I was thereafter determined to discover many of the ways by which I could heal. But too, I now know that when I first discovered grounding, I wasn't doing it near often enough.

Anyway, back to the story... this time my spirit guides were telling me to stay tuned, that they had just the thing for me to get involved in (to use up some of the abundance of creative energy). I waited with baited breath. It was within a day or two of that when I automatically found myself reading up on orgone, orgonite and orgone generators. When in the past I'd found myself reading on topics that would not otherwise cross my mind... well, the point is that I found it necessary to do some follow-up questioning.

Orgonite image courtesy of Orgonite.info

In the past I had asked my guides, through Tarot, questions such as 'is this what you were referring to?'; 'did I understand the message correctly?'; and similar things; things that made it clear as to WHY I was exposed to certain concepts and opinions I had read. After a while it was just understood that I didn't end up reading whatever it was out of coincidence. For this reason I understand completely that my spirit guides communicate with me by sending me to articles on the Internet and too by other ways such as to meet someone specific or pick up a book with a message in it, etc.

During the early part of the orgonite research period I found myself on impulse, purchasing a lot of four pieces of orgonite on eBay. I felt need to try a tester batch to see what it did for me (good or bad) prior to making any. It was coming to me from the USA, I live in Canada; so it took a while to arrive. More on this later...

As I read up on orgonite and orgone generation, I found it to be very interesting. One of the reasons I believe that I was initially reading about making orgonite pieces was because they cleanse shungite without having to go through a ritual process. You just store them together and that's it - shungite cleansed like magic.

NOTE: Since that time I have discovered that placing shungite in sea salt (as with most healing stones and crystals) cleanses it perfectly well too. The trick is not to store them in it, as it can have a negative effect on the integrity of certain pieces. Two hours works fine for my crystals.

At that time I was using shungite for its healing qualities. I thought orgonite would be neat and useful to make as a craft, and it would also use up some creative energies. The more I researched the topic, the more interested I became. When I consulted my guides via Tarot, I'd asked them if this was what they had intended for me to get involved in.

The response confirmed that my spirit guides were indeed encouraging me to research orgonite (also known as orgone generators). There was one small area of concern though, at the time it seemed small enough to be insignificant. Now in retrospect I see that the reason the warning I saw seemed unimportant was because I was so gung-ho passionate about getting into this orgonite thing.

Yeah, I was going to do it alright, even though my guides were saying 'do it, it's great, it will yield benefits, even profit if I'd choose to pursue that path'. 'But...' and the but part, there's the thing. Something not all good was going to happen, but the reading didn't have an ominous vibe. Even with the warning, it still felt like a go-ahead situation.

So I didn't worry about the downside... you see, I had nothing to measure it by nor compare it to. I had no idea what to expect... really, how could I know what was to happen next?

And that's where the story gets complicated. Hmm, so here we take a break.

This will be part one of this story.

Here is part two

Shamanic Music
In the recent edition of Jesus Manifesto there was an article by my friend and colleague, Phil Wyman of the Gathering in Salem. The article is titled "Jesus as the Archetype Shaman". I have copied it below for reflection and feedback. How might this concept be received by those in tribal cultures? What about the idea in the Neo-Pagan community? On to Phil's article:Ascent to the heavens, descent to the underworld, an experience of death and resurrection, acting as a psychopomp to the lost souls of dead humans, story-teller, cultural icon and outcast, healer, exorcist...these are the works, and the personal experiences of a Shaman. These are also the things which set Christ apart as unique in human history. These are things of which He is an exemplary model, and humanity's ideal for spiritual excellence and success. These elements are identified by religious historians as the signs, and activities of a Shaman. It is the contention of this article (and any following articles on the subject) that the Nazarene was the ideal of shamanic power and practice, and therefore The Archetypal Shaman. This concept is not a new one. Others such as Peiter Craffert, and John Pilch have already done studies along these lines. Their ideas have been considered revolutionary by some, and heretical by others. Both Craffert and Pilch have appeared to have cast Jesus as the Galilean Shaman, at the expense of the orthodox Christian position of Messiah, and resurrected Lord of Heaven and Earth. In contrast I understand Jesus to be the Savior of all humanity by means of His death and resurrection, and the unique Son of God. My position here in this article, and those that might follow is that Jesus carries many characteristics of the ideal Shaman, and exemplifies the power aspects, and ecstatic experiences of shamanism. In a shamanistic culture Jesus would have been viewed as the greatest of all Shamans, and both previous and subsequent Shamans would be a viewed as a diminishing of shamanic power, but coming from Jewish culture he was obviously held as the greatest of all prophets (and even more than that) to those who would follow Him.By saying this I am not saying that all Christian ministers should become Shamans, nor am I saying that Jesus saw Himself as a Shaman. This is a simple presentation suggesting only that the things Jesus did are things Shamans all over the world have attempted to do throughout history, and that Christ is the exemplar of the experiences of the Shaman, and the goals which the Shaman seeks to accomplish. Deeper concepts, and further conclusions, which the reader may come to are their own surmisings, and not those which I am presenting here. The Shaman is a type of medicine man who works for the community to bring healing, and prosperity. He battles evil spirits seeking to trouble humanity. Usually through ecstatic experiences of trances and soul travel the Shaman will discover healing remedies known only to God, or the gods. The Shaman may also lead the souls of those who have died to paradise through the same ecstatic soul journeys.Eliade Mircea's landmark book "Shamanism" published in 1951, held this as a central theme: That the diminished powers of Shamans were an oft repeated mythos across the continents and islands in which elements of shamanism could be found. Somewhere in the stories of ancient Shamans there was an archetypal Shaman whose powers far exceeded those of more recent history. The degradation of power and also of an open and clean communication with the unseen realm of gods, goddesses and spirits is a repeated theme in the mythic stories in shamanistic cultures. This mirrors the story of the Fall in scripture. Once humanity walked in complete confidence before God - without shame, and in open and direct communication with Him. The hunt for a return to paradise underlies the story of our Christian scripture, and underlies the traditional stories of shamanism as well, and so the worlds of shamanism and Christianity meet at a common place."More than once we have discerned in the shamanic experience a "nostalgia for paradise" that suggests one of the oldest types of Christian mystical experience." wrote Eliade in the epilogue of the English edition of his book.I am convinced Jesus answers the "nostalgia for paradise," and by doing so becomes the archetype of the Shaman.More to come. Follow me as I follow Christ through the world of Shamanism.AUTHOR BIO: "Phil Wyman pastors a church in Salem, MA. His friends are Witches, Druids, Pagans, and Shamans - and some Christians too. His wife, Bev, is recovering from hand surgery right now, so he is being a nurse at home, but their 10 year old greyhound Holly is probably doing a better job of it."

Rock Art Of Siberian Shamanism
In the introduction of "Precious stone Art and the Difficulty Circle of Siberian and Interior Asian Shamanism", Ekaterina Devlet writes, "In Siberia and Interior Asia - the 'homelands' of shamanism - represent is no ancient tradition of in print natter, and therefore no direct ambassador figures on the practice and belief systems of the prehistoric make somewhere your home. Plush insights can be even so gained from the equivalence of tilt art images with ethnographic actual, which shift that a shamanic world-view was essential for the twisted symbolism of the Siberians." A general evaluate in tilt art is the version of the shaman's drum. Horizontal though represent are unusual types, shapes, and images tinted on the shamanic drum, it is steady depicted in the tilt art. The mixture of enrichment second hand on the drums extensive from superficial to innately exaggerate. The sound is remarkably illustrated, "In the Altai region, images depicted on bygone shamanic drums confirm a striking equality with what is not worth it on the tilt engravings" (Devlet 47).
