I have been reading Peregrin Wildoak's recently released (and long-awaited) "By Names ">
One subject in particular that was raised is the idea of using magic for material gain, a hotly debated topic in occult circles. It is such a huge area that it deserves a post of its own. Please note that while this post was inspired by the relevant section of Peregrin's book, I am also making some broader comments on the topic in general.
Sufficed to say, I do not agree with Peregrin's suggestion that there is no place within the Golden Dawn for magic to better our everyday lives. I used to think this for a long time, and then I realised that if I do not accommodate my material existence then I will have difficulty focusing on spiritual growth.
For example, if I cannot afford enough food, I will likely suffer physical ailments that make it impossible for me to pursue the magical path. If I am constantly worrying about when the next pay cheque comes in, for fear of being thrown out of where I live, or for fear of providing enough for my children, I will spend my time working extra jobs or being consumed by stress, with no time or energy to focus on spiritual things.
Also, the idea that if someone can afford a book on magic then they are "rich beyond measure" is something I cannot agree with it, as some people scrape by in life and make sacrifices in order to afford books and other things that are employed within our tradition.
This is obviously a controversial area of magic, and understandably so, as our primary aim in Golden Dawn work should be our spiritual growth. Balance is key to everything within this system, however, and ignoring the physical world is an act of imbalance. I see absolutely no reason why a person who would use all the tricks in the book to get a job, such as presenting themselves in as best a light as possible in their CV, should not, if they feel it appropriate, use magic also.
In the old Golden Dawn documents there are not many examples of magic used for material ends, but there are some dotted throughout. For example, the Jupiter Talisman consecration ceremony in Regardie's book has as one of its primary purposes the invocation of "abundance" (a word repeated frequently throughout the ritual). While obviously this word is open to interpretation, it can mean a material abundance just as much as a spiritual one, and was likely something that attracted many original members like Yeats to create a Jupiter talisman.
Another example can be found in the Z-documents published in Nick Farrell's "King Over the Water", where we see that under the Water heading for the Z2 formulae is the "production of meteorological phenomena such as sunshine, storms, drought, increase of water, floods, earthquakes, etc." These are very mundane, non-spiritual aims, and "spiritual development" is set in its own section under Spirit, thus showing that it is not the only thing permissible within the scope of Golden Dawn magic.
Clearly these are very small aspects of the GD corpus, which is predominantly focused on spiritual growth, which must always be our primary aim, but I see nothing in the material that is contradictory to the idea of material gain, nor anything that overtly forbids it.
Indeed, it is often easy for us to forget that Mathers was being financially provided for by Annie Horniman, which allowed him to produce a lot of the good material that he did. We would have to question if this would still be the case if he had to work for that money. He certainly would not have been able to spend so much time in museums and libraries studying old texts and would have had less time for his astral contact with entities, etc.
In fact, when we think of the original members they were usually fairly comfortable, if not abundantly so, when it comes to their finances. It is easy to focus on spiritual things when you do not have the worry of needing to make money, a worry that an increasing number of people face with the lower availability of jobs in most countries.
The issue of material well-being also affects our gradework. We often hear horror stories about the Zelator grade, in particular, where people's mundane lives fall apart. This is often the grade that most people leave, unable to cope with their world crumbling. Some people report that they lose their job, their house burns down, they get incredibly sick, or some other unfortunate example of the physical gone wrong. And it does not need to be like that. Often these wake-up calls arise from people ignoring their problems, such as an inability to manage their finances or not eating healthy or taking enough exercise. They need to address them on the physical plane, but just as we would employ a Raphael rite to help in the healing process of someone (which can actually be a very physical thing), there is no real reason why we should not use magic to help with the other problematic aspects of our lives.
Peregrin does make a good point that we should help our fellow human beings, particularly those who are less fortunate than us, but I do not think it is the place for Golden Dawn leaders to criticise and judge the motivations of magicians who employ magic for personal gain. Indeed, just as Mathers thought that the temple members and chiefs should not interfere with the personal lives of members, I think we should be careful about imposing our own moral values on others, no matter how important they are to us. The Golden Dawn is, after all, not a religion.
Compassion is one of the principles of Chesed, and it is an act we should extend to the sick and the poor, as any good Rosicrucian, or, indeed, human being, would do. However, judgement is an aspect of Geburah, and while it has its place in the grand scheme of things, where we must balance all that we think, say and do, if we wish to be truly compassionate we must also avoid judging the choices and motivations of our fellow magicians who decide that using magic for material ends is appropriate for them.
I must qualify my remarks by stating that Peregrin does acknowledge that some people within the Golden Dawn community did or do use magic for material gain, including Regardie, and that "each of us must decide for ourselves on the validity or otherwise of attempts to magically address material concerns." It is thus a personal choice, and neither approach is necessarily right or wrong.
In the end the 0=0 oath forbids the use of "evil magic," which is a very ambiguous term and does not, in my opinion, include magic aimed at making our stay in this world that bit more pleasant. We are told to "Quit the Material and Seek the Spiritual," but extreme asceticism is not the Golden Dawn approach, and we cannot ignore our physical lives if we want to be truly successful as human beings and being more than human.
This section of Peregrin's book takes up a very small amount of space, roughly one page, but it raises important questions and shows just how much is packed into the text. While I cannot yet make my final verdict until I've read the entire book, I am impressed with the content so far, which covers things that have not been published before, or have not been written about in such a clear way.

Today I decided to Explore the Artist's Path through tarot. I have done this spread about once a year for the past few years, and it actually never changes that much for me, which is disheartening because that means I am not growing or addressing the issues I need to be in order to make progress. This is a long spread over tender subject matter so I won't be offended if you choose not to read *smile*
1. THE SELF-PORTRAIT : What is your self-image of an Artist? What is your relationship with this identity?
The Devil - No surprise to me here. I think it is amazing and stupendous for other people to be artists. I am in awe of them and I am happy for them, even more so if they can make their living creating, doing something they love. As for me, however, I often view time I spend in my art as wasted. It is not making me any money and it is not adding to the children's lives in a concrete, measurable way. One of my favored ways to beat myself up is to call myself lazy and wasteful, and most of all selfish, when I spend time just reading, writing, or daydreaming, even though those are critical activities for a writer to be doing. I would never speak to a friend this way, but I hold no compunction about talking this way to myself. Sometimes I catch myself doing it and am able to change the internal dialogue, but sometimes I don't.
I am also concerned that given the opportunity, I would let myself simply fall into a pattern of wanton hedonism. Now, this is obviously not the case, because I somehow manage to keep my life in pretty good order now, and I could choose to do different things with my time and money now, but I don't, because the party lifestyle doesn't really appeal to me, but for some reason I think it might if I had the money? And possibly some small degree of fame or notoriety?
And if I get that money, or any material thing, from this art have I sold out? Is it still a sacred thing for me, or have I corrupted it for greed?
I KNOW the answers to these questions logically, but knowing something logically is not the same as feeling it in your heart.
2. THE NOW: Where are you now, while looking at your path with an Artist's eye?
Seven of Swords - Again, no surprise, especially not with the particular imagery of this card in the Deviant Moon. The performer, the artist, has the swords precariously balanced. So far, he is making it, but how long can he keep up that delicate balance? And when it falls apart as it inevitably has to, there is sure to be a disaster. He has not made a plan to deal with this possibility and I do not have a contingency plan, either. I can't not write, it destroys me, but I have not taken the steps I need to be able to write, full time. I keep trying to keep the one sword balanced on the balls of my feet while keeping the other from dropping right down my throat. The evidence of my other failures lays strewn around me. Ray Bradbury said "First you jump off the cliff and you build wings on the way down." Well, I don't know if he had kids to feed and a ravenous ex that wants to prove that he couldn't take care of them properly, but I do. I often tell myself that if it were just me I could take risks that I can't because I have three little ones that need me.
3. THE DRIVING FORCE: What is the driving force; what feeds the internal springs of your creativity?
The Chariot - Sometimes tarot has a real sense of humor. The Chariot as "driving force"...haha! The Chariot is my personality card and it does fit. I am always moving ahead, always striving for mastery and control of a situation. This is a blessing, and a curse, because that Tower Shadow card likes to remind us that we do not have control over every situation nor should we. I keep plugging away at anything I choose to do, because that is how I am. I write for a lot of the same reasons I use tarot - to give voice and reason to the internal conflicts I feel.
4. THE MUSE: What external factors or forces inspire you? What gets you going?
Two of Wands - The figure in this card is digging up, or planting, some roots. Either way, that relates to reasons I write. It is often an internal excavation of things that go on inside on the landscape of my mind. It is also planting the seeds for projects that I want to complete later. Often I write something in a day, and come back to it later, sometimes months later, and I am inspired to try again, and do more. This card shows single minded focus on his work, and that state is when I feel most myself. Feeling good in one's own skin is a powerful motivator!
5. THE BLOCK: What blocks your creativity?
Three of Cups - Well, again, this is not really a surprise. I know exactly what this card is saying to me. I like this card, it is a celebration. But, as artists, we have to be careful how much we let that take over our lives. Moderation in all things. I am hesitant to write this at all, because while I am not an alcoholic in any sense of the word, and I would hate to give that impression, I promised myself to be completely honest here, with myself, and my readers. There are times when I have had a glass of wine or two, and honestly, what I have written is just effing brilliant. However, there are just as many times when it is complete rubbish and I have lost an evening to the haze of the wine. I also realize how dangerous it is to be dependent on any single thing to produce. So, if I have to give up my dinner wine on nights I need to write well, that is a small price indeed.
6. THE BLOCK AT WORK: When you're blocked, what do you do instead of creating? How do you spend (or squander) your time?
Seven of Wands - I like the imagery of this card, as I have mentioned in previous blogs. The little girl is frantic, rushing out of the forest she was lost in. The card alludes to confidence, faith in oneself to save oneself, and I think by this point in the reading it should be apparent that I don't have a lot of that, not in this area. There are lots of places where I am pretty sure I am all that, but my faith in myself as a writer is weak. I spend a lot of my time lost in a forest of self doubt, but if I would just be calm and look for the answers, or even just feel my way around in the dark, I would find my way out. Instead I get frantic and allow my anxiety to start whispering, then shouting, ugly things in my ear and I just run around in chaos, in my head at least.
7. THE MONEY: What are your views on the relationship between Creativity and Money?
Ace of Pentacles - While this should be a very favorable card in this position, for me it's not. This Ace is a ferocious dragon, who never scared me before, but I have the distinct feeling of fear as I look at him now. Aces should be good omens, especially the Ace of Pentacles in a question about money. But so many of my fears revolve around not having enough of it, and that is not even for me, but more for my kiddos. I am worried that I cannot have both my creativity and money, that it has to be a choice. Again, I know logically, in my head, that this is not true, but we are not dealing with logic, people.
8. THE PRICE: What you need to give up in order to pursue your Artist's path?
Ten of Swords - This figure seems like they are in a completely hopeless situation, trapped in a box of sharp swords stabbing through the box they are in. I need to stop seeing myself that way. I am not trapped at all, except by the box I put myself into, and at any point I can get up and get out of there. Those aren't real swords at all. They are fake ones that my fear and anxiety has created, but my confidence and courage will make them dissipate.
I also tend to see this card as a person acting a bit overly dramatic, and I do have a tendency to do that. Just be calm, these cards seem to be murmuring to me in a soothing voice.
Further, I KNOW the situation at my work has to be over, but because I am so worried about the money, I have not been listening to the quiet prompts of Spirit. I could be building myself a Tower situation by not willingly taking the steps I need to now, instead waiting to be forced into change.
9. NEXT STEP: What you need to do next, to make sure you walk forth down the creative path you've chosen?
Nine of Swords - Here is the humor of tarot coming out again. I am currently in the process of making a large and deeply personal tarot journal for myself. I was ruminating on this card today, wondering how I could cast it in a positive light, or even as advice, when it is so clearly a card of negative connotations. I think the message for me here is that there is such a thing as productive worrying. Instead of taking matters into my own hands, I have kinda been haphazardly trying to let things unfold as they will. There is a time and a place for that method, but there is also a time and a place for careful planning and constructive consideration of a project. Also, I spend so much time worrying about things that are really just phantoms that my energy is consumed and I am not doing a good job of paying attention to what I need to in order to do well at this. So, in short, start worrying about the important things and let the rest fall away like chaff from the wheat.
10. THE ARTIST CARD: After dealing the nine cards of the Artist's Path spread but before reading it, place The Artist card as a Significator at the end of the spread (S). This card is You. Accept your creative powers and responsibilities, and your Artist's Path ahead will be clear.
The Star - I did not consciously choose this card, which acts as the Significator for the reading, but let the cards fall where they would. I do not own the deck this spread was created for, but I believe it has a special card that is supposed to signify the querent as Artist. I don't think I could have gotten a much more positive, encouraging card in this position, though! As much as I struggle, as much as I fall away from the path sometimes, hope springs eternal for me. I keep trying, striving, hoping, going for my dreams. Regardless of what happens for me, as a writer I gain insight and healing from the process of it, and at the end of the day, we all just want to be whole.
As I mentioned earlier, I have many of the same cards in similar positions in previous readings with this spread, but I am actually greatly heartened by this reading. The Major Arcana cards I see as positive ones, so that means I have control over changing the Minor Arcana that I am not best pleased with to what I see as a better path forward.

But try asking for something from the Buddhist Publication Society. Roshi Albrizze had the room spellbound with his honesty, authenticity, and humor as he moved from the Buddhist basics to the end of suffering in exactly 90 minutes: the Four Noble Truths, which culminate in the Noble Eightfold Path, Zen meditation, American Buddhism, and the urban quest for "satori". A tattooed, bald, bearded rebel at heart, Jeff has studied at ZCLA and at times lived a monastic lifestyle undertaking retreats and "sesshins" in search of a sudden awakening. His first epiphany came as a Catholic in recovery: He found that he needed something "truthier," something at the bedrock of that tradition, so he became an ardent student in search of Jesus as a Pentecostal preacher. And what he discovered after years of searching for truth was the Buddha. He then established PASADHARMA. EarthHouse Project's 11th Annual
Midsummer Gather for 2011
Litha 34,255 S.W.R.
By Rev. Jack Green of Hollow Hills Coven
If you like Labyrinths or home brewed mead this is the place to be. If you don't mind camping in drizzle and lots of earwigs visiting while you're hanging out with a bunch of pagans and singing, drumming and dancing around a roaring fire, then this is it. Jenny Green and I left Paganistan for the Blue River and Eagle Cave on Dyad 19, the 19th day of Dyad Moon (that's Sunday, June 19th in the Roman calendar.) It took about 5 hours to get to the campsite. We had done our Esbat, our Full Moon rite the night before (Saturday) but the Full Moon was on Dyad 15, Wednesday June 15th three days before. It's always on the 14th or 15th day of the Moon when you start the day count at New Moon so we circle on the nearest Saturday.
THE CAMPSITE AND ITS HISTORY
Eagle Cave is in Southern Wisconsin (An Ojibwe word) in what was Dakota Country around 1600, then Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) Country by 1800. By 1860, what was left of the First Nations after the wars and the plagues were all pretty much rounded up and corralled onto the various reservations. The Nearest Reservation is the Ho-Chunk Rez about 70 miles almost due north. Despite Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's modern depredations the names of the land itself still tell the story. The old native tribes are now numbered with our spiritual ancestors and our future allies for though we are only Second Nations here we are the First Nations reborn in the Old Country: Europe.
"PRACTICING THE ABBOTS BROMLEY HORN DANCE"
SETTLING IN AT THE CAMPSITE
Once there, we set up our camp. It had been a while since we had been camping and it took a bit to get my woodland legs back. Fortunately, the EarthHouse registration packet included a list of things to bring. Unfortunately, we got there just as the opening ritual had begun, so we waited until the gate was again open. Then we pitched our new tent and borrowed a tarp for our sheltered area. The brand new tent was larger than we thought so we used two tarps underneath rather than just one as planned. The community fire was already going and the first night's drumming had begun by the time we finished our set up. This is the same overall site as the old Pagan Spirit Gatherings I had attended in 1988 and 1996 and it was just as hilly so my legs and ankles got a good work out. While finding a relatively level spot for the tent was tricky, it was possible.
Jenny and I attended some workshops together and others separately to better cover our bases, but we couldn't see everything we wanted to. We were frustrated we couldn't get going right away, but it had rained the night before, and it was very difficult to start a fire. We finally got a fire going and had a late breakfast and I finished setting up our campsite while Jenny went to a drumming workshop. It was pretty rainy and misty until Thursday and we had to use our rain ponchos a couple of times. The rest of the time was quite nice and sunny. We got to star gaze a couple of nights and I gave some informal star walks. On Friday night Jenny and I saw the International Space Station pass over. It moved like a satellite but it was much brighter. Now that it's finished some people say they can see its oblong shape. Godspeed to the heroes who have died trying to open up the next frontier not just for humankind but now for All Gaian Life.
PAGAN UNIVERSITY
In addition to a series of workshops and kids programming, there was Pagan U or Pagan University which focused on more advanced topics and I was asked to do a session on Pagan History. These classes were generally right after morning meeting and the first one was an "Herb Walk and Plant Identification". Presentations included "Ecological Restoration, a Spiritual Perspective" which involved a hike in the local woods on Monday with Chris. "Divination: What, How and Why" on Tuesday and "To Know, To Dare, To Will, To Keep Silent" on Wednesday, both by Estelle Daniels. Thursday's was "Understanding the Labyrinth" with Mama Cat and my "Pagan History" was on Friday. While I did get to explain the broad sweep of the topic, the detailed discussion only got us up to Stonehenge and the Megalithic Tribes.
The feasts and the music shows were awesome! The Midsummer Feast on Wednesday, 22rd Day (June 22rd) of Dyad Moon was huge and we made turkey chili for the vast potluck collection and the Barbarian (camper's leftovers) Feast on Saturday, Dyad 25, June 25th. "(Note: it is quite rare that a Roman Month such as June starts on the day of the New Moon of a lunation like Dyad Moon so Month and Moon days match up but it does happen. When it does you can often get several moons in a row that do it, like the next moon: Buck... it was just as big)"
"SMILEY FACE IN THE FIRE"
MUSIC, RITUAL AND OTHER WILD THINGS
The musical guests were great too: "Folk Magic' played Wednesday night. On Friday, the 24th Day of Dyad Moon, Cat Gut did a violin concert on that put us in the salons of 18th Century Europe while we lounged in a 21st Century Wisconsin forest. Amazing. Jenny and Bear sang folk songs afterwards, including a few requests. That night the amazingly talented Cat Gut also gave us an awesome fire-spinning show during the drumming and dancing of the community fire circle. (See above photo). The previous evening, Cat was practicing with her light spinning LED wands that created a number of very interesting optical effects, but my camera's batteries were dead at that point.
The Rituals are of course what a lot of folks come for. The Chocolate ritual on Monday was funny and tasty. The Summer Solstice rite on Tuesday was not the usual celebration of the union of the God and Goddess, but more of a magical rite on what we wanted to get rid of in our lives. Wednesday was the Midsummer Feast and Thursday Mama Cat led a Labyrinth Walk. There was a closing ritual on Sunday, which we attended as we were packing up. We made sure to get as much contact info as we could from our new friends before we left.
Nature and the local wild life as usual had it's own agenda. In addition to the mists and rains in the first part of the week, we had a startling large number of earwigs getting into every nook and cranny; plus gnats that well, bugged us. There were tons of birds of all local species. Skunks patrolled for trash at night--I could hear their little growly voices at times. A Barred Owl debate woke Jenny and I up around 3:00 AM Thursday morning. We think they were arguing about territory as the screeches came from two different sides of the tent.
EarthHouse Midsummer Gather was a blessed relief from Mundania, the Muggle World. I still get a little culture shock after every pagan gather but the spiritual recharge is well worth it. After the gather, Jenny wanted to somehow to make our alarm clock say "It's Coffee and Hot Water too!" just like the morning call of Rick's Caf and the village herald we were greeted with each morning at 7:00 AM. All in all it was a great, engaging weekend and we had fun relaxing, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones as we 'recharged' our pagan batteries.

"Esteem isn't about practice stop to services, or how greatly money you put on the little mask. It isn't about leave-taking skyclad to the Spiritual Rites, or meditating each day upon the divine. Difficult to expand on to a result the reasons overdue church those not individual permissive of any other religions or doctrines is a realization, and whatever thing I don't fix on even attempting to expand on for some profuse living. For me and my child, I ruminate the three religions are a boundless way of incorporating ancestoral admiration, god and godess darling with piazza mature that represent are no astute set language or doctrines that commit us hip whatever thing that we are not courteous with.

We all breakfast them...some optional extra than others.

The socks I wrap from my superintendent today? They are now my partiality.
Meeting under the Christmas tree? My partiality place to sit.
Mac and cheese? No contain for a facilitate key in on this one.
Blogs? Yes I breakfast my favorites.
The ones that I necessity read every day. The ones that I go to to be emotional. To learn everything. To be encouraged to create above individually. Or in some bags, accurately to get a good giggle in.
Bonnie is one of my completely favorites.
I take up to her as a "BLOGGING GENIUS" and breakfast even begged her to "MANEUVER" with me.
The word "MANEUVER" optional extra so practice accurately plunder all of her braniac blogging stuff.
Kidding Bonnie. Unless your fashionable that bright idea of course?
Source, she is about today to proportion with you all what it will be afterward the day her and I meet-up.
Homegirl has a pretty good setting for me I necessity say.
Explain below, be entertained, and furthermore go to her blog and read straight every post she has ever on paper.
It's "THAT" good.
Amazballs in fact (TWINKLE TWINKLE).
Explain below and the twinkle twinkle will make atmosphere.
Why see you later contemporary, Time in Blond readers! My name is Erid and I create snooty at Time in Red!
I kid. I kid. But I not far off from got you, right?
Say-so, for reals now. The name is Bonnie Blackburn Larsen and print jabber is my game. Sometimes I get in cause for anxiety for what I create, but that's accurately the way the cookie crumbles. The husband's name is Greg and I've been told I would be a confuse for letting the internet Gods know my husband's name seeing as now they can plunder our identities and catch on our home, GASP! Therefore, to protect us from cyber devils and seeing as it seems by some means hip I breakfast named him Hubs. I credit individually on cunning. This is me in my very sexiest form. I impression afterward this about 0.0021% of my life. Perchance less.
This is me in my ugliest form- clothed up as Voldemort for midnight Hassle Potter premieres. I accurately felt afterward from the get go you de rigueur to know me in my best and greatest forms. Maxim know that generally I am where in the main of those two extremities, but creeping snooty optional extra fashionable the Voldemort imaginative, no have an idea that.
If you are smooth inquiring in me, (OH THIS SOUNDS SO ROMANTIC!) you breakfast a tether of options from about.
Option #1: I flatter Erin. And breakfast for a want time now. I breakfast a cyber/blog/One-day-I-am-going-to -surprise-her-and-show-up-at-her-door demonstrative of love for Erin. Altitude as she lives in.... Indiana? (APT, ERIN?) and I be situated in Utah I breakfast a dream that one day we shall finale. And while we do it's goodbye to transfer the world as we know it. Nobility reading everyplace I will demand you honestly how a Bonnie/Erin finale up would go down.
Option #2: Escort my blog everyplace you may read all my hallucinating to your heart's lucky. You influence wanna journal out this post which will drag out you a very category, slam fall of the blog and a guide to the critical posts- the emotional ones about my Hub-a-dubs, the ones about teaching high school to bratty teenagers, and even the monstrous ones. (That post was on paper back in Time in enhance of the initial time I sponsored Time in Blond back while a stake ad was 20. Oh how get older breakfast changed!)
Option #3: Period at my blog, seep into Wednesday's giveaway- jewelry profusely, Starbucks, and Bombard. Being optional extra can a girl want?!?
Option #4: All of the further
(Decide #4! Decide #4)
Let's inquire into apt in, shall we?
The Same As BONNIE AND ERIN Finale
BY BONNIE BLACKBURN LARSEN
The day would start off very old. All Erin and I are very old risers seeing as we afterward to get work done. In this shell, as, I don't ponder we'd be behave by far work. Maxim giggling. Yes, Erin. The same as you and I get together we are goodbye to chuckle non apart from.
Near the beginning thing I would be interested in a fall of Erin's scenic maintain. I've seen waste of it at the forefront, but I be interested in a full waste fall, dang it! I would accepted avail yourself of a lot of time in Erin's blogging safe place. Essentially seeing as I am fascinated/ insanely overprotective that Erin has a whole room of the maintain keen to her blog. I would furthermore supreme accepted try to plunder a picture or some other insanely dreadful maneuver she has misleading on all sides of in contemporary. Erin would I imagine see me and accurately let me look after it "Les Mis "cause.
It follows that, we'd I imagine plop down on the band for a little be born TV. I would be interested in to tour "Detention up with the Kardashians, "but seeing as I love Erin I would I imagine be willing to tour "GUILIANA AND AFFECT". We'd I imagine each one total on at bare minimum an hour of "YOUNGSTER MOM" to renovate us each one that Baby Point is nowhere in spy. I influence even channel up with this little fur glob, seeing as likelihood are that if I was all the way out in Indiana I'd be vanished my own pup.
Absolutely about 11 am we'd drag ourselves off the band and get on sale to hit the agreement. I would definitely All right arrival Erin's hush-hush. My trainer pencil skirts and cardigan sweaters don't always do it for me. Sore necklaces and high heels, about I come!
(P.S. If you haven't seen Erin's hush-hush post you really contain to. But I'm note you. It'll make you unpleasantly with envy.)
Past I was all dolled up in Erin's clothes we'd hit up all the popular bad skin that Erin loves so much- Bombard, Ikea, Bombard, and furthermore Bombard one optional extra time! I'm a really scared/non interment merchant. So I'd try on a million things, get to know out two, and furthermore on my way to the make note of put them back and quite buy a container of Starbursts. Afterward I'd sit in the little Bombard cafe and leaning a sustenance coke point Erin continued her shopping. My conjecture would be that upon journal out, Erin would breakfast where on earth from 12-15 items. I would in the right position ask her if I can copy some of her new clothes.
Whilst an afternoon full of shopping, we'd I imagine apart from at a little coffee shop to decode a bit. The conversation would turn to blogging and I would supreme accepted clumsy place with what an objective Erin is to me. We'd dialogue blog strategies- giveaways, mingle ups, guest posts, what does all the violence mean?!? I'd ask her how her book is coming scheduled that she is print and we'd dialogue mighty big goals and generous bloggy dreams.
At some aim for in the conversation Erin influence say the word, "AMAZEBALLS" and I'd turn to her and say, "GIRL! YOU GOTTA APART FROM SAYING THAT WORD! THE WHOLE BLOGOSPHERE IS ABSORBED WITH IT AND IT'S TOTALLY OVERUSED!" and she would say, "OH, BONNIE. DON'T YOU KNOW I DO WHAT I WANT?" And furthermore I would say, "Touche, Erin, Touche."
The conversation furthermore influence turn to things that are bigger than blogs and the word "AMAZEBALLS". We influence dialogue about life, about love, about our religion,s about all the things that make our little hearts disobey. We'd dialogue about marriage- the difficulties and the blessings. I'd ask to see Erin's wedding pictures and impediment all about her "PRE BLOG LIFE." I would love to know what emotional her to get connubial whole, what her initial go out with of marriage was afterward, while she wants to breakfast her own minuscule Erins. I'd place with to her that marriage is by far harder than I ever dreamed of, but in the vastly indication, by far optional extra sweet-tempered, by far optional extra sustaining, by far optional extra fun. In a flare of weakness I influence demand her I under cover be interested in undeveloped but that I am not so under cover very very very very very dire of them. (Did I get a lot verys?)
Whilst two or three hours in the coffee shop the afternoon would be far no more. Erin influence wear me to a football game (DUKE?), or a Karaoke bar. We influence even do a seditious understanding of "MAN, I SETTING AFTERWARD A ORGANISM" or everything the same as as liberating for women. To the same extent for some feel I setting afterward Erin would afterward that. And I know she'd pelt that Mic.
OR.... maybe Erin, Shawn, and I would accurately channel up and tour a movie. In our Snuggies, undeniably. Erin would definitely breakfast her steady wine opportunity solid and I would supreme indubitably be holding on concentrated to an ice critical sustenance coke and a fling of loaded popcorn. We'd I imagine giggle at the vastly jokes or even if I didn't ponder it was costly, I'd I imagine giggle accurately seeing as Erin and Shawn were smiling and I afterward to giggle while other evolution are smiling.
Hip 30 report I'd be knocked out.
And that my friends, is how the day would distribute.
For now I'll accurately breakfast to push to my negligence about contest Erin... a reside to Indiana is nowhere in site. Halt a second... I do breakfast a lot of put down to card miles I've saved up... maybe... hey Erin? You gotta band I can catnap on this weekend?!?
Don't skip to come say hi! MWAH!
To reply your ballot Bonnie, yes.I do breakfast a band. And it impulsively has your name on paper all snooty it.
1. We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the Moon and the seasonal quarters and cross-quarters.
2. We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.
3. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than is apparent to the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary, it is sometimes called "supernatural", but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.
4. We conceive of the Creative Power in the Universe as manifesting through polarity -- as masculine and feminine -- and that this same creative Power lives in all people, and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing each to be supportive of the other. We value sexuality as pleasure, as the symbol and embodiment of Life, and as one of the sources of energies used in magickal practice and religious worship.
5. We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological worlds -- sometimes known as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconscious, the Inner Planes, etc. -- and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magickal exercises. We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary for our fulfillment.
6. We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.
7. We see religion, magick, and wisdom-in-living as being united in the way one views the world and lives within it -- a world view and philosophy of life, which we identify as Witchcraft or the Wiccan Way.
8. Calling oneself "Witch" does not make a Witch -- but neither does heredity itself, or the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within him/herself that make life possible in order to live wisely and well, without harm to others, and in harmony with nature.
9. We acknowledge that it is the affirmation and fulfillment of life, in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness, that gives meaning to the Universe we know, and to our personal role within it.
10. Our only animosity toward Christianity, or toward any other religion or philosophy-of-life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be "the one true right and only way" and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practices and belief.
11. As American Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the Craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects of different traditions. We are concerned with our present, and our future.
12. We do not accept the concept of "absolute evil," nor do we worship any entity known as "Satan" or "the Devil" as defined by Christian Tradition. We do not seek power through the suffering of others, nor do we accept the concept that personal benefits can only be derived by denial to another.
13. We work within nature for that which is contributory to our health and well-being.
-- These principles were adopted by The Council of American Witches in 1974.
