Together, we have led many sacred adventures deep into the Yucatan Peninsula. After five near-death experiences between us, we're both on a life long search for spiritual truth. Others believe inter-dimensional beings were the ones who passed along the astronomical knowledge and architectural insight they so clearly possessed. Regardless of the source, the evidence remains unchanged - The Maya knew things about the universe, thousands of years ago, that we have only discovered within the past twenty years. According to the Maya, we are set to end this particular phase of creation on December 21, 2012. The world is not ending; no, far from it. However, this phase of Creation will end as it heralds the legendary dawning of its successor - The Age of Aquarius. These end days are teaching us to look beyond the illusion, for nothing is as it appears to be. The very fabric of reality is being rewoven as we move one step closer to bringing Heaven to Earth.
Although it has never happened before in the recorded history of humanity, the Maya foretold the upcoming journey of our Sun into the very Heart of the Milky Way. Amazingly, this pre-Colombian culture was capable of tracking this galactic event (known to modern science as the 26,000 year Procession of the Equinox) which was destined to transpire several millennia into their future. For example, consider the contribution the Internet has made to our daily lives. Cyberspace has given us instant accessibility to worlds of knowledge heretofore unattainable. Moreover, many of the things we now mindlessly participate in now, such as acts of aggression and world war, will have to be relinquished, for they will not remain viable (or be permitted) in the higher frequencies of Light we are entering. Most of us have already recognized a quickening of our time. There's simply not the same 24 hours in the day anymore. It seems to us that we are working twice as hard to accomplish half as much. This is due to the acceleration of Creation which, as a natural by-product, creates an acceleration of time. As everything continues to speed up, the truth of our identity as spiritual beings cannot help but become more and more obvious and undeniable. In fact, Dr. Carl Calleman believes, "The Mayan calendar is NOT an instrument for tracking the procession of time as previously thought, but as a meter and measure of the evolution of human consciousness."
Yet, from a purely scientific perspective, it has been proven that the universe is four-fifths dark matter. Well, what exactly does this fact mean to the average person? Quite simply, this means there is indeed an invisible, intangible yet, connective spiritual substance linking everything in the universe into a cohesive, evolving state of oneness. What was once seen as superstitious nonsense, concepts of a weak mind, or foolishness, myth and psycho-babble is now being revered as astrophysics and quantum mechanics. This tells us that what the ancients recorded in antiquity is now being translated into a logical, modern language replete with definable, scientific terms. The myriad of recent discoveries within the realms of these modern sciences only reinforces the vast knowledge the Maya possessed regarding the possibilities of a future time; a time we now call the present. How very exciting for all of us! We have at hand the potential to create a future world where hatred, war, greed and deceit will find no shelter. But, it is only a potential until we take it upon ourselves to proactively search our inner natures to find that eternal connection to the Divine. Once found, we must then allow it to navigate our lives into the flow of the great inter-galactic, multidimensional energy, most recently streaming forth from the Heart of the Milky Way. Just as the courageous explorers of old used the trade winds and ocean currents to navigate their way to the shores of the unknown, in hope of discovering the New World, we must now align ourselves with the influx of cosmic energies waiting and willing to sail us into a new reality of time and space. Let us rig our sails, batten down our hatches, and chart our course for the brave new world set to begin on December 21, 2012. We can only accomplish this by getting ready today.
There will be a many teachers coming along to show us how to become dynamic galactic citizens, and it is our responsibility to open our hearts and minds to their energetic presence. However, the gift of discernment will be our greatest ally. Heed only those teachers who foretell of endless possibilities, not doomsday scenarios. Humanity stands at the precipice of all possibilities, including destruction. Yet, armed with unconditional love and compassion, we shall not fail in our dedication to the fulfillment of creating Heaven on Earth. When we return from our current journey to the Yucatan, we shall share what we have once again learned from the ancient Maya, knowing it will reinforce the beautiful dawning of a New Age on Earth.

The name doesn't ring a bell for anything spirit-related or demonic. However, within branches of Paganism and Shamanism, everything in nature is to believed to have a soul; trees, plants, flowers, etc. For many Pagans, it is considered respectful to ask the Earth for permission to take, cut, or break something of the earth - or whatever you took would not work in your favor.
Perhaps it's the branch's soul or the essence of the branch that is "speaking" to you. Sometimes it's a good thing, others not so much. If it has not caused you any harm or you have not been getting any negative or harmful vibes from it, then you are probably safe with it. If you have, then it is probably best that you return the branch to the woods where you found it.
If you think it's okay to keep it, maybe you can do something useful with it besides just keeping it to collect dust or chopping it up. Craft it into a staff or wand, or carve magickal or spiritual symbols and place it by your door or in your room for protection.
If you are Pagan, or if you're not but have some knowledge of meditation, you can meditate with it. Go into a deep meditation and see if it's soul or essence appears to you. Perhaps you took that specific branch for a reason - maybe it called to you without you knowing it, and within meditation it can give you or show you a message or its purpose as to why it's "speaking" to you.

Martin Marty lifts up information from a new survey on religious life, focusing on the "White working class," especially White males without a college education. The question is -- how do they see the world and their place in it? Marty doesn't give a lengthy response, but raises our attention to the realities of social class in America. Remember -- we may all be equal in the sight of God, but that's not necessarily true elsewhere!

THE WHITE WORKING CLASS-- MARTIN E. MARTY "Sightings" lives week by week. In my other life as an historian for sixty years I have lived by 250 and 500 year chunks of American life. My colleagues and I know that you cannot write religious history, the history of religions and of religious people in America without reckoning with the social class of citizens. As obvious as that is, it is not easily spoken about. Whether we listen casually or closely, we hear how instinctively the measuring of people and movements by class is part of the judgments we make. If that paragraph sounds cautious, it is because talk about class is so perilous. Yet, there it is. And, like much about ethnicity and race in American history, so class is tangled with religious heritages and choice. Mention that and you may be accused of being prejudiced or occasioning class war. Fortunately, we get more and more data that helps us speak and write in informed ways. This week let me lift out one illustration, informed by a new and extensive survey by the folks at Public Religion Research Institute. We will focus on "white working class men," who are much observed these days. Robert P. Jones and his PRRI associates first attack some myths, including that "white working-class Americans have abandoned traditional religiosity and a strong work ethic." In fact, they are more likely than Americans in general to attend church and they do not report that religion is less important than it was some years ago. The PRRI survey makes it possible for Jones and company to confirm conventional wisdom. First, that the non-college group does embrace different consumer preferences, lifestyle choices, and parenting choices than do white college-educated Americans. They are less likely than the college-educated "to feel connected to government." Surveyors find that 51 percent of the college-educated whites speak readily of "our government;" only 39 percent of those without college do. More of them believe that blacks and other minorities get too good a deal from government than do the college alumni, with a count of 60 percent to 39 percent. Interestingly, though they are economically disillusioned, they believe strongly in American exceptionalism. Let the politicians reckon with all this. Only 19 percent of them will call themselves liberal, while their college-educated counterparts include 28 percent self-named "liberal." As for affiliation, 36 percent identify themselves as evangelical Protestant, while 19 percent see themselves as mainline Protestant or Catholic. Only 16 percent say that they are religiously unaffiliated. To compare, according to PRRI findings, in college-educated counterparts 21 percent are evangelical, 23 percent mainline Protestant, 23 percent Catholic, and 21 percent unaffiliated. Interestingly, almost exactly one third of the college-educated white Protestants claim to attend church weekly as do the non-college cohort. College experience or not, the religious activity numbers are also similar: 32 percent say they almost never or never attend church. It is impossible to summarize all the findings and contentions related to this survey; the purpose of this admittedly brisk report is simply to remind ourselves that, while class-talk does not tell us everything, it tells us much, and we neglect it at our peril if we want to deal intelligently with politics, cultural life and, yes, church life, in our nation which is so rich in diversity. Suppressing talk of class forces us to leave out many elements that can improve national life. When class comes up, we do well to talk. REFERENCES Robert P.
