Graveyard dirt Magic can be used to Heal,Find Love, Protect,Talk to an Ancestor / Loved one. Find something / someone lost, Curse, Revenge etc it all depends on the user and what his or her intentions are.
Please remember some states and Countries it is illegal to take Graveyard dirt and always Respect whom you take the Dirt from First you must ask them permission Offer something Pennies / Dimes / Coins to the Deceased.Wait for a response those of us who are in tune to the Spirit world will know what the answer is.
Once you have Permission take only Top Soil and take only enough dirt to work with no more 1 cup or 2 cups of Graveyard dirt is all you really need once you have taken the Dirt Replace the dirt with Herbs or Flowers or Dirt from a Flower Pot
this way the Dirt is replaced. Thank the Deceased person for allowing you to have the Dirt.
leave pennies and a candle on the tomb to thank them
Now you must dry the dirt when you get it home. I prefer letting dry out on its own, it will take some time to do this put the Dirt in a bowl to dry. and toss it to let it completely dry out
this will take about 10-20 days to completely Dry out.
Some people put the Dirt on Tin foil to let it dry faster this works too
one might want to transfer the graveyard dirt to a respectable container, as one should show respect to the dead. A small decorated container should do.
Put the Dirt into a JAR CLEARLY MARKED so nobody mistakes it for something else like a SPICE
Put the Dirt on your Altar or under your Altar
to Bless and Thank the deceased
here is a brief history on the uses of Graveyard dirt
use of Graveyard dirt in magic has been found in almost every culture known to exist
the Ancient Greeks would often call upon their ancestors for knowledge or warriors of the past to help them in a future battle
The Norse Believed that they could talk to the other side and talk to the Warriors of Vahalla to help them in battle and often before battle would anoint themselves with the dirt of their ancestors or keep a small amount on them in a bag as a charm.
The Chinese believed that the Soul lingers for Decades after Death watching over ancestors and you could call upon them to help you
Native American beliefs are the soul waits for its ancestors and can be called upon to assist or exact revenge or heal however when doing native american Rituals you must ask permission from living members of the family as well as the Tribal leaders do not take without asking its actually illegal and disrespectful
many cultures believe that soul is just waiting for a new body to be born ( Reincarnation )
and by offering a body such as rubbing Graveyard dirt on a pregnant woman Belly would allow the soul to find a new body to be reborn
Hindu beliefs that the Soul can be contacted from the other side
many Rituals very involving one in particular that you take a bath and sprinkle the graveyard dirt in it to allow you to have Second sight to see the spirits and communicate with them
Hodou/ Voodoo Beliefs are the soul cant move on unless it is invoked by an ancestor or loved one to clear them of all things done in life and the soul can help to heal or protect or comfort or exact revenge
and there are countless other ways
Now some people believe that Graveyard dirt is a form of Enslavement I have spoken to many Elders who do this and believe that is not Enslavement for the Spirit chooses to help if you are worthy and you must pay a price for asking for assistance such as such as sweet treats or helping them find their window to move on
And Certain Deities get upset if you abuse a spirit such as Hecate or Anubis or Baron Samedi and many others who will Punish you if you misuse the Gift they have given you
do not Abuse a spirit remember everything you do will come back on you times 3

The deployment of graveyard dirt in protection spells may specify that the dirt come from the grave of a family member or a friend. In these cases the spirit of that person is protecting you or your home. This is again a link to ancient African beliefs and practices, in which ancestor veration is a key component of how one relates to the spiritual world.

This is actual powdered red brick dust mixed with Graveyard Dirt, believed by many, to have protective magical qualities. It is also reputed by some to draw money and business. GRAVEYARD ENEMY CURSE
Graveyard Dirt and Sulphur Powder with an enemy's hair or private bodily concerns, put the mixture into a bottle with 9 pins, 9 needles, and 9 nails, and buried the bottle under the enemy's Door-step or Pathway as the moon was waning in order to hurt them or cause them to pine away. Others claim that they have put GRAVEYARD DIRT into an enemy's shoe and then marked a trail from the victim's home to the nearest graveyard, sprinkling a pinch of the dirt at every Crossroads along the way to lead the enemy to take that path.
