According to the ancient Hindu texts there are 10 directions or Dasho Dishas in the Zodiac. namely North, South, East, West, Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, Southwest, Nadir and Zenith. These directions are all presided over by ruling deities and each has a specific mantra.
This is a powerful Protection Mantra to secure all the 10 directions and hence there is no need to recite 10 different Mantras.
The continuous chanting of this mantra protects one from danger from all the 10 directions; may that danger be from evil energies or from enemies.
